Supporting police families when the unimaginable happens.
The Police Children’s Charity supports police families by easing the financial pressures of bringing up children in the face of life-changing circumstances - including financial assistance for the mental health and wellbeing of children of serving police donors.
We built a custom WordPress site designed around accessibility from the start. Content-heavy pages use accordions to keep information available without overwhelming the reader. A secure trustee area protects internal documents - handbook, meeting minutes, sensitive files - with access locked down so even direct URLs won’t work without a login. The WordPress admin was tailored so the team only sees what’s relevant to each page they’re editing.
The navigation uses image-based buttons designed around the charity’s content structure - clear visual signposting for an audience that includes people in difficult circumstances. We migrated all existing content, worked through multiple design iterations with the team, and delivered a site that’s fully responsive and WCAG 2.1 compliant.
This wasn’t a project we rushed. The charity’s work matters, and the website needed to reflect that - warm, trustworthy, and completely accessible to the families who need it most.
We worked through every iteration with them until it was right.
A huge thank you to Adam Astbury and the team from Wonder Media for sticking with us and helping us build the website we had all been dreaming of.
Every project starts with a real conversation. You'll speak directly to the team designing and building it.
