Futures
18+ years as the digital partner behind one of the UK's fastest-growing recruitment groups.
18+ years as the digital partner behind one of the UK's fastest-growing recruitment groups.
Our relationship with Futures started in the early 2000s. We first worked with director Tom Liptrot at Esprit People - a recruitment business he grew from a two million pound turnover to seventeen million, with fourteen offices across the UK. When Tom moved on to co-found Permanent Futures in 2003, we came with him.
What started as a single website for a new recruitment venture turned into a partnership that lasted over 18 years. Over that time, Futures grew from a small team into a 45-strong, multi-million pound recruitment group with specialist divisions across public sector, education, manufacturing and FMCG - landing a place on the Recruiters' Fast 50 list two years running.
We were there for all of it. Every website revision, every rebrand, every new sector launch.
Futures were paying significant Broadbean license fees with per-seat costs. We replaced it entirely with Rocket Zest - a custom-built job distribution platform with one flat monthly fee, unlimited users, and no contracts.
Write the listing once, choose your boards, and post. One action sends it to Reed, Monster, CV-Library, Find a Job (GOV.UK) and more simultaneously - all from a single dashboard.
Every job gets a unique email address. Applications arrive from the boards and the parser extracts applicant details, CVs and cover letters, and assigns everything to the correct job automatically. Recruiters see the full pipeline at a glance, mark candidates as suitable or not, and templated responses go out without anyone lifting a finger.
Rocket Zest was designed, built and maintained by Wonder Media. The platform has been completely rewritten and is relaunching soon - register interest at rocketzest.com
Futures scrapped their Broadbean license fees entirely once Rocket Zest went live. One flat monthly fee, unlimited users - no per-seat costs, no contracts. The only comparable products on the market still charge both.

Over 17 years, we designed and built multiple full website revisions for Futures - typically every two to three years as the business evolved.
In the early days, it was a single Permanent Futures website with sector pages. As the teams grew and the divisions became more established, we moved to a subdomain model - education.futures.co.uk, manufacturing.futures.co.uk, and so on - each with its own branding, colour palette and targeted content, all built and maintained by us.
In Q4 2019 we carried out a full brand refresh. We modernised the Futures logo and icon, unified the visual identity across all divisions, and gave each sector its own colour and voice while keeping the family feel consistent. We also built their final website revision - the one they used until mid-2025.
We also built a separate website for R3 Resourcing, another recruitment venture within the group.
Over 18 years, the work went well beyond websites. If Futures needed something designed, built or fixed, we did it.
That's how long-term partnerships work when you're speaking directly to the person doing the work.
Futures secured the equivalent of £40,000 in outdoor advertising space through Ocean Outdoor. We designed the campaign artwork for digital billboards across Leeds and London - including Two Towers Leeds, Digi-Bridge Trinity Wandsworth, A40 Gypsy Corner, Hammersmith Broadway and A13 Eastern Lights.
Wonder Media have done a great job updating our website and staying patient with us during a rebrand. We've worked with Adam for many years now and he's always on the ball helping us to keep things up to date. Thank you Wonder Media Team!
