Accessibility
WCAG 2.2 AA as standard. Tested. Not assumed.
School websites carry more responsibility than most. They're how prospective parents form a first impression, how current parents access information, how Ofsted inspectors verify compliance, and how students find what they need. They need to be fast, accessible, and easy to keep current.
We've built sites for mainstream schools, SEN schools, and further education colleges. The work always starts from an understanding of who's using the site and what they need - not from a school website template with a header image and a news feed.
We understand the safeguarding requirements. We understand that school office staff updating content will never be web developers. We build CMS interfaces that are genuinely simple to use, with appropriate controls to prevent accidental publishing of sensitive material.
The most important feature of a school website is that it gets updated. Dates, events, policies, staff changes, news - all of it needs to stay current or the site stops being useful. That only happens if the CMS is genuinely easy to use.
We build sites with a customised CMS interface that removes unnecessary complexity. Uploading a news item, updating a policy document, or adding a new staff member should take less than two minutes. We train the staff who'll be using it and produce documentation that doesn't require a web background to follow.
We also pay attention to the statutory requirements. Maintained schools and academies have specific content obligations under the DfE guidance. We build the page structure around those requirements and flag when something is missing.
Every project starts with a real conversation. You'll speak directly to the team designing and building it.
